What it’s like working with
a virtual bookkeeper

Regular communication is a must. In order to achieve total ledger accuracy, we need to develop a consistent relationship through email, video conferencing, and in some cases third party platforms.

Expect to delegate some in-house tasks. Develop a method for collecting and uploading receipts, forwarding information, or using spreadsheets.

Be open minded to learning new ways of sharing information and collaboration.

Be comfortable with technology. It saves time, improves efficiency, and automates the mundane so you can focus on more important things. The downside is sometimes it takes a little bit of time to get used to learning new things.

Understand that you are sharing sensitive information virtually. Make sure that when you’re sharing personally identifiable information, that you are doing so safely. Rely on your virtual bookkeeper for assistance!

Prepare yourself by having all of your financial accounts set up for online access. Your virtual bookkeeper needs their own third party access to streamline the process.
